How to download single files

  1. Files can be downloaded by clicking on the download-icon in the thumbnail. You can also find this icon in the preview view above the asset.
  2. You will see a dialog where you can choose between different download functions. To learn more about the different download options, please visit the article Advanced Options for Download
  3. If you do not require any of the download options and want to download the original, hold down CMD (on your Mac) or CTRL (on Windows devices) and then click on the download icon.

How to download multiple files

  1. To download multiple files, select the files you wish to download by clicking the check mark in their thumbnails.
  2. Once you have selected a file, a series of function icons will appear in the upper right corner instead of the display options.
After selecting the files, click the download icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Canto combines all files marked for download into a ZIP-archive.
You will have to enter a name for the ZIP-file.
Note: Depending on the selected files, you may be able to specify the download, e.g. in this dialog:

Please note: The "Resize in Bulk" option works similar to the "Custom: Resize" option mentioned in the article "Advanced Options for Download", but will affect all assets selected in the same way.

The values present in the width and height fields is an absolute pixel value. If you have an asset that is 400 pixels high and another that is 500 pixels high, entering the value "200" in the height field will resize both assets to have a height of 200 pixels.

You can click the lock icon to lock (Ratio_Locked.png) and unlock (Ratio_Unlocked.png) the aspect ratio. If the aspect ratio is unlocked, all assets will be resized to the exact values entered in the width and height fields. If the aspect ratio is locked, all assets will be resized to match the lowest value in either the width or height field, while maintaining their individual aspect ratios. For example, if the height field is set to 200 px and one asset has an aspect ratio of 1:2, while a second has a ratio of 5:9, the first asset will have the new dimensions of 100 px by 200 px, and the second asset will be set to 111 px by 200 px.

  4. Make your choice. Then click Apply.
  5. Depending on the browser you are using, you may need to allow pop-up windows to be displayed or approve the download.
