Work with a template

Brand Studio Templates are powerful tools for both designers and users, allowing you to decide if and when a user can choose additional customization options. Due to the scope of this tool the best way to learn what can be done is by experimenting. If you have not yet worked with similar design tools – such as Adobe InDesign – you can visit the article "Brand Studio Interface - an overview" to learn about the different functions in more detail.

Add Automation

To make a template flexible, you can add Automation. This will allow Template Users to modify templates according to their specific needs, within the parameters you provide. To learn more about Automation, please visit the article "How to: Brand Studio Automation".

Save your work

Brand Studio has three ways for you to save the work you have done on a template, all of which can be found in the upper right.

Save Draft

Saving a draft takes all the changes you have made to the template and saves them only within your Brand Studio session. This allows you to pause your work and return to it at a later stage, without making an unfinished template available to Template Users.

Save as Copy

This option creates a new Brand Studio Template in your Canto library to which all your changes are saves, while the original tempalte remains unchanged.

Publish New Version

Publishing a template creates a new version of the asset, which can be tracked by the Version History on the Information Page. Any unsaved changes at the time of publishing will automatically be saved to the template.
