The Share function serves as an alternative to the Product Hub's Export feature, and allows you to send information to external and internal recipients in a clear and accessible format.

Please note: Sharing content from within the Product Hub requires the "Share Catalogs" and "Share Products" privileges. For additional details about Product Hub user privileges, please visit the article "How to: Manage Product Hub user privileges". Shared content is accessed via Product Hub Share Links – which are separate from Canto DAM Share Links – and accessible to anyone with the Share Link's URL. |
Create a new Share Link
Product Hub Share Links display their content similarly to how it appears in the Product Hub, which is why the Share function is limited to individual Products and Catalogs.
From any Product Hub page that lists Products, select the Product you want to share and open its Detail page.
Ensure that the "Product Details" tab is selected, then click the "Share" button in the top right.
The Share Link has now already been created, but you can use the "Sharing" overlay to make further adjustments.
Expiration Date ①
Set an expiration date for your Share Link, after which it will automatically be deleted. All Share Links must have an expiration date, and the expiration date may not exceed 3 years from the Share Link's creation date.
View ②
Select a Product View that will be applied to the Share Link. This View cannot be changed by visitors of the link.
Custom Name ③
When a Share Link is created, its URL is dynamically generated. By entering a custom name, you can replace the random identifier within the URL with an identifier of your choice. After you have entered the custom name, click "Renew Link" at the top of the page to apply the new URL.
Share Link ④
This field contains the URL of your Share Link.
This URL will
not be accessible again after the overlay has been
closed. It
is recommended that you copy it by clicking the
symbol,
and save it to a secure location.
You may also click "Open Link" to open the Share Link in a new browser tab.
Click "Close" to finalize your changes.

Please note: Once the "Sharing" overlay has been closed, no further changes can be made to a Product Hub Share Link. |
Catalgos can either be shared from the Catalogs page or the individual Catalog Detail page.

Please note: Visitors of a shared Catalog are able to export the data of all Products within the Catalog as a CSV by clicking "Export" in the top right corner. To ensure that only relevant information is made available, verify that the Catalog is set to the correct View. Click to zoom

From the Catalogs page, find the thumbnail of your
Catalog.
Click the
icon
and
select "Share".
From the Catalog Detail page, click on
in the top right, then select "Share".

Manage exsting Share Links

Please note: The actions described in this article require Administrator privileges, and are unavailable on Consumer and Contributor profiles. |
From anywhere in the Product Hub, click on "Admin" in the top right and select "Share Links"
Depending on the type of Share Link you want to edit, select either "Product Shares" for a list of all Share Links for individual Products, or "Catalog Shares" for a list of all Share Links for Catalogs. Regardless of your choice, both lists have the same information and behaviour.
Find your Share Link in the list and click it to access its details.
The Share Link Details page shows the following information, which can not be edited.
| Identifier | Part of the unique URL generated for the Share Link. |
| Custom Name | The custom name entered for the Share Link. |
| Created By | The email address of the user who created the Share Link. |
| Expiration Date | The date at which the Share Link will be automatically deleted. |
| Created At | The date the Share Link was created. |
| Catalog Name \ Product Name | The name of the Catalog or Product the Share Link was created for. Click the link to open the corresponding page in your Product Hub. |
| Catalog Created At \ Product Created At | The date at which the item linked to this Share Link was created. |
| Number of Products | This point is only available on Catalogs and shows the total number of Products shared through the Catalog. |
Delete a Share Link
To delete a Share Link, open its Detail page and click on "Delete in the top right corner.
Recreate a lost URL
Each Share Link URL consists of three parts: your Canto Domain, the Share Link directory, and the Share Link's Identifier.

Example: The Share Link URL https://example.canto.com/pim/sharing/11ec6a31-72b8-40e7-abbc-69035b843cda can be split into the following segments.

To recreate a Share Link URL, open its detail page and note the Identifier or Custom Name.
For a standard Share Link, combine your Canto Domain with the directory "pim/sharing/" and the Identifier.
For a named Share Link, combine your Canto Domain with the directory "pim/sharing/s/" and the Custom Name.
