Uninstall Legacy Canto Plugins

Before you install the new Canto  Connector, you will need to uninstall your old Canto Adobe App Plugins. See below on detailed instructions on how to uninstall the previous Canto extensions. 


Important note: Once you uninstall the old plugins, any links between your Canto library and your plugin files will need to be manually re-established in the new Canto Adobe Connector.


Uninstall the Adobe Plugin on macOS 

InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator 2018 & 2019


1) Browse to: 

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

2) Delete the CantoConnectCC2018 folder



Note: Use the general "Library" folder on your Mac, not the one within your user directory, i. e. /Users/(your Mac username)/Application Support/Adobe/. Your user directory Library does not contain any "CEP" folder.  


To delete all cached files used by the plugin, delete the Canto folder in:

/Users/{username}/Documents/


InDesign 2017

There are 3 locations (folders) on the Mac which must be deleted for a complete uninstall. 

Start off at the root of your Mac hard drive.



1) First location: 

/Users/(your Mac username)/Library/Preferences/  

If the Library folder isn't visible, hit this key combination: SHIFT + COMMAND + .

Delete the SiliconConnector folder:

 


2) Second location:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

Delete any of the folders listed below in this directory:

  • FlightInDesignPlugin
  • CantoInDesignPlugin



3) Third location:

/Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2018/Plugins/  and /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2017/Plugins/

Delete any of the folders listed below in this directory:

  • SiliconConnectorFlight
  • SiliconConnectorCanto




Uninstall the Adobe Plugin on Windows

InDesign 2018 & 2019


The plugin's default installation path is: 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\

After a successful uninstallation process, the folder CantoIDConnectorCC2019 should not be available anymore.


To delete all cached files used by the plugin, delete the canto folder in:

C:\Users\{username}\Documents\


InDesign 2017


1) In Windows, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall a program:



2) Double click either FlightInDesignPlugin or CantoInDesignPlugin, whatever is applicable in your installation.


InDesign & Photoshop

1) Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\


2) Delete the folder CantoIDConnectorCC and/or CantoPSConnectorCC
